This section lists the recorded ships' arrival and departure dates for East, West and South African ports - the West African coast from Tangier to the Cape and the East African coast from Aden to the Cape. Often it is difficult to trace a vessel's movements along the African coast since so many ships travelled independently, and so do not appear in the convoy database, yet they account for about 70% of the port records.
For convenience, we are including the Azores, the Canary Islands and the Cape Verde Islands in this section.
